2019 Audi Q3: Growing up nicely

2019 Audi Q3: Growing up nicely

As one of Audi’s longest standing models, the Q3 crossover is no stranger in the Audi showrooms. However, this all new 2019 version is sure to turn some heads with its all-new exterior look and a few other much-needed upgrades.

For starters, the 2019 Audi Q3 has grown in size (and character), with a longer wheelbase and longer body, as well. There’s also more interior space for passengers and cargo, the rear seats can even move six inches and offer 40/20/40 split options for gear and people.

If you’re lucky enough to get into the front seats of the 2019 Audi Q3 you’ll find a hugely updated centre stack and gauge cluster. Featuring design cues you’ve become familiar with on other recent Audi products, lines are modern and clean across the dash with soft-touch materials and lots of technology.

Even in its base trim, you’ll be greeted with a 10.25” digital gauge cluster. Now, of course, if you opt for the top of the line Audi Q3 that gets switched out for the much-loved and impressive 12.3” Virtual Cockpit, and the standard 8.8” centre stack screen is upped to a larger 10.1” version.

Audi’s MMI system is standard, as is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a quick-charging USB outlet for fast battery recharges on the go.

Now, about that exterior look: The 2019 Audi Q3 has definitely grown up and gained some serious personality and style. Much more aggressive in its stance on the road, the Q3 sports the German engineer’s signature linear front grille with angular LED headlights and matching rear taillights. A solid shoulder-line gives the 2019 Audi Q3 a decidedly muscular stance, as well.

In terms of engine options, for now it seems that North America will only be getting one engine option, Audi’s 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder that can produce either 190 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque or 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque – depending on how its been mapped out.

For now, the 2019 Audi Q3 will remain across the pond and will be available in Europe by the end of the year. There’s been no solid confirmation on when it will hit our shores, but you’ll want to head down to your local Glenmore Audi to speak to one of our experts about the all-new Q3 and put yourself first on the list for test drives as soon as it arrives.
